About Ellen Goode
A singer/songwriter raised in the Northwest suburbs of Chicago, Ellen wrote her first song on the piano when she was 12 years old. Continuing her singing, playing drums, piano, and trombone throughout her youth and adolescence, she found that creating soulful music was a purposeful and growthful endeavor that always felt like home to her. Many years and evolvements later, it still is.
Having released two albums and a cassette single in the 1990's, she has moved on to work on her third solo album and various demos and also is producing music for her acoustic pop/rock band, Melanie's Waiting. She has at this time written over 100 songs in many different genres and also arranges and produces other music - always careful to safeguard the original inspiration, feeling, and expression of songs entrusted to her care and developmental offerings.
Ellen's production style exemplifies her belief that music should be accessible, offering itself to the listener in a direct way that gives them room to connect emotionally to the original intent the song had at its creation, to facilitate the listener in having their own version of reflection about what the author was processing at the time the song was born.
About the Music
Thank you for visiting. This site is here to introduce some of the music of Ellen Goode. The music here is for Healing and Recovery.
Music is a powerful opener and healer of wounds. It can have the capacity to hold us through deep emotions, and guide and support our physical expression of those emotions. It is an incredible "auditory mirror" for experiences, understanding and feelings. A song can be a way to bookmark "a moment in time" when a deeper understanding evolves from important experiences, and we have a soulful piece of wisdom and insight into our lives and their meaning. We connect with more of who we really are in those moments.
In addition to being very committed to my own personal growth, I have been privileged to witness and support the healing of many others through my work as a wholistic health practitioner, addictions counselor, integrative bodyworker, and body-based psychotherapist. It is years of those precious experiences that are reflected here in this music. It is my hope that through sharing this music on a wider scale that I will be able to have a spiritual connection with many more courageous people engaged in developing their integrity in an often painful world.
In many ways, I make no separation between the musical realm and the spiritual realm - so to me it seems the most natural way to reach out in sincerity and support of our collective healing and recovery. If you want to reach back, the recordings on this site are offered for sale. All the money gained from sales of this music will fund recording more and better produced music. I hope you find something meaningful here that you resonate with in a way that is helpful to you.
Wishing you peace, comfort, and growth,
Ellen Goode
